Author & Curator – Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum

Mr. Cubbison is currently Curator for the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum in Casper, Wyoming.  

A native of northwestern Pennsylvania, he has served over ten years active and reserve duty as a U.S. Army Field Artillery Officer, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2007 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He has served as Command Historian for several U.S. military units, as well as Cultural Resources Manager at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY.  Mr. Cubbison has been awarded a U.S. Army Commendation Medal for his establishment of an Officers Professional Development (OPD) course, focused on the use of military history to develop leadership skills.   Doug is a widely published Millitary Historian, with nine books on various military subjects and one historic novel.   His writings pertaining to the F&I War period include The British Defeat of the French in Pennsylvania in 1758, A Military History of the Forbes Campaign Against Fort Duquesne (Jefferson, North Carolina: McFarland Publishers, 2010), All Canada in the Hands of the British – General Jeffrey Amherst and the 1760 Campaign to Conquer Canada (University of Oklahoma Press: 2014), and On Campaign Against Fort Duquesne:  The Braddock and Forbes Expeditions, 1755-1758, through the Experiences of Quartermaster Sir John St. Clair (McFarland Publishers: 2015).  Mr. Cubbison holds a B.A.in history from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
