Executive Director – Old Fort Niagara
Mr. Emerson has served as Executive Director of Old Fort Niagara since 1997.
During his tenure at the historic site, he has developed new programming, expanded the site’s interpretive facilities and garnered financial support for capital and operational projects. Prior to that, he served as a site administrator for the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for 13 years. Mr. Emerson is keenly interested in the French occupation of Fort Niagara between 1726 and 1759. During the 250th anniversary commemoration of the French and Indian War, he served as a member of the New York State French and Indian War 250th Anniversary Commemoration Commission.
